Memories of A V Roe at Chadderton

Joan Smith started work for A V Roe, (or Avro’s as it was known), in the 1950’s and has written about her time there and shared her memories with AIT.
Joan was at the Chadderton site in 1954, when it was the home of the Vulcan bomber, and remembers the introduction of its first computer, a Ferranti Mark 1.
