AIT is delighted to announce that we will be starting a new research project in November on the history of the Human Computer Interface over the life to date of the stored programme digital computer. Thanks to a grant from the WCIT Charity, we have been able to engage Dr Elisabetta Mori (pictured) to review our archival content and other sources to compile a view of the development of how we have worked with computers over the years.
AIT content includes insights into the development of haptics (Dr A Michael Noll), the first version of Microsoft Windows (Ron Weeden), computer / brain connections (Prof Kevin Warwick) and multiple accounts of the challenges of input / output in the first generation of computers. Work will start in November.
