9 January 2024

Archives of IT will host the first of an annual series of forums on the histories of the internet and our networked digital society to kick off 2024.

The forum will bring a multi-disciplinary set of academics to meet with practitioners and leaders from civil society, business, industry, and government.

We will review some of the major technology innovations of the past and discuss what lessons we can learn about the likely societal impact of currently emerging technologies.

The forum is an opportunity to build new academic networks in an under-developed field, and also foster academic-industry interaction.

It is in line with AIT’s objective of raising public awareness of the rich and important history of technology in the UK.
