Interview with Tasha Morrison

After studying business computing at university, Tasha joined Whitbread PLC on their graduate training scheme, and at the time of this interview, worked as a solution architect and also ran her own digital marking company.

In this interview, recorded in 2022, Tasha discusses the impact of the ‘Internet of Things’ and how this affects her thinking when developing systems and apps for a hospitality company. Tasha emphasises the importance of behaviour analytics in technology, particularly in understanding user interactions. One example is the pandemic – beforehand she was struggling to get people to move from using Skype to Microsoft Teams. Changes in people’s personal circumstances where they suddenly had to work from home made this process much simpler as the human behaviour had changed, rather than people having to play catch-up with the tech.

Tasha believes that seamless technology in everyday tasks can bring great benefits. She mentions emerging technologies like extended reality and how they track user behaviour in physical spaces and explains how companies use behaviour analytics to understand user interactions and improve technology.
