John Carrington, who is the Chair of AIT’s Board of Trustees, gave a talk to the Computer Conservation Society earlier in February 2023 on The Mobile Revolution – the early days of cellular 1983-93 – a personal view.
He was at the forefront of mobile developments in that period becoming Managing Director of BT’s Mobile Division in May 1983 and launching BT Cellnet (now known as O2), of which he was chair, in January 1985.
